I got my first scooter when I was probably 14 or 15 – an Li150 Special. As soon as I was old enough (and a bit before) I was on the road going to the runs in the early eighties on a range of Lambrettas and Vespas.

After watching a race meet in 84, I got the racing bug and started riding for Hampshire Union right through to 1990 (I think!). I sold my Gp4 racer in 1991 for stupid money and have regretted it ever since
